You can rest easy, since our Meadowlake rental unit is NOT located in an evacuation zone! Of course, you are free to go to a county evacuation shelter if you choose, but the county will not require residents to evacuate from a non-evac zone.
However, you should be aware that other rental units may be located in an area where the county requires residents to leave their residence and go to a shelter located on higher ground.
The evacuation levels (A, B, C, D & E) are based on the anticipated storm surge from a landfalling category 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 hurricane, respectively. The projected surge heights are determined by the NOAA SLOSH* model.
Because of the shallow Gulf waters and the configuration of Tampa, surge heights could be significantly higher than along the Atlantic coast. See the map or link below for the location of evacuation zones.
The light (creme) colored area on the map below identify the non-evac zones while any colored area represents an evacuation zone of one level or another.
